Brenda Barnes (Letters, June 16) should be grateful she only has to walk through the filthy streets of Hanover. Unfortunately, I have to live there.
The streets are a disgrace. Black plastic sacks put out days before the refuse collection day are torn open by the birds and their contents are strewn across the pavements. Dirty nappies, empty cans, bottles and newspapers all adorn the streets.
People like to recycle things in Hanover and when the wind blows, all this rubbish gets recycled on to someone else's doorstep.
Hanover, muesli mountain? Rubbish tip of Brighton, more like.
I'd like to thank those employed by the council who are doing their best to help combat this problem.
However, the real answer, of course, would be for Hanover's residents to stop fly-tipping, putting out rubbish days before the refuse collection day and to start taking some pride.
