Thank you Jackie Corbett (Letters, June 15) for putting into words what so many of us feel.

Do any councillors actually go swimming and use the facilities at the King Alfred? If they did, they would soon realise the current pool needs to be larger, not smaller.

How can the country consider an Olympic bid for London when Brighton's councillors are so shortsighed and cannot even agree on a decent pool for future potential Olympic swimmers to train in?

Once again, the people of Brighton have been let down.

Can anyone imagine the horror of having 700 properties crammed on the existing site? The tin cans will obviously be full of sardines.
