I don't know which is more breathtaking, the incompetence of Brighton and Hove City Council or its arrogance.
As someone with health and mobility problems and who lives in an area where parking is frustrating and time-consuming, even for the able-bodied, my resident's permit and blue disabled badge are proving to be inadequate.
Daily trips to hospitals, my GP and for treatment are fraught with the worry I won't be able to park within walking distance when I get home.
My application for a disabled space in my road will take up to six months, although I am already medically registered disabled and in urgent need.
I've asked everyone at the council who is responsible but have received no response to my phone calls or letters - no response to several polite approaches from a citizen who pays high and ever-increasing charges for local services.
While parking regulations are enforced with ruthless efficiency, it seems the needs of disabled drivers are of no interest at all.
A city which celebrates diversity?
Don't make me laugh.
