I was saddened to read (The Argus, June 15) about the parking attendant who issued a ticket to a funeral limousine, owned by Caring Lady Funeral Directors. This sort of behaviour does nothing to generate goodwill and respect for parking attendants.

But does Brighton and Hove City Council or National Car Parks care? Obviously not, judging from their spokespeople, who simply invited the driver to "appeal".

My family had the trauma of our adored son's funeral just before Christmas. I don't know how we would have coped without Teresa Baker, owner of Caring Lady Funeral Directors, and her staff, who offered support, compassion and kindness and took such good care of our son before his funeral. Nothing was too much effort for them and they were caring and respectful.

They need all the help and support they can get, not someone arguing the toss about a parking fine or a 50p parking ticket. Thank you Teresa and your staff for the good work you are doing.

As for the unfortunate parking attendant, he has done nothing to help the cause of his colleagues and obviously didn't have any respect, or give a damn about anything or anyone other than his ticket machine.

His employers must be glad they have someone like him working for them. However, I wonder how his mother must feel.
