Isn't it time Brighton and Hove City Council did what we voters voted for?
That is, to represent us and, among other things, lay down targets for contractors who dig up the roads.
For the past week, there has been major traffic disruption caused by roadworks opposite the Portslade Royal British Legion in Trafalgar Road, Portslade.
It now takes half an hour by bus to get there from Boundary Road traffic lights because the roadworks have closed off half of Trafalgar Road.
Last Sunday, there was nobody working but the traffic lights were still there, so journeys were still longer than normal.
Isn't it reasonable to expect road works at bottleneck sites to be worked until they are finished?
I expect Roger French of Brighton and Hove Bus Company is pulling his hair out with the increased delays, operating costs and the reduction in services. I sympathise with him and his crews.
Councillors, tell these contractors to extract their digits.
-Rod Ackers, Portslade
