A college which helps businesses raise their profiles has marked its first anniversary by announcing plans to expand.

Oxford College of Marketing, based at the University of Brighton, is recruiting more lecturers and offering a wider range of courses.

From September it will introduce night-classes which lead to professional qualifications linked to the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

The privately-run college's client-base has grown to 50 in the last year.

Liz Barnes, course director, said: "This has been a very successful year for us and we've enjoyed working with so many bright and capable marketers who I know are doing great things to improve their companies' performances."

"We expect our intake to increase by at least 30 per cent this September. Much of this is through referrals as students and their employers value our impressive results and high levels of support.

"We've also invested heavily in an online learning system which is very popular with students. We look forward to helping more individuals develop their careers and their companies' fortunes."

Daniel Rowles, head of internet marketing at Academy Internet in Brighton, has been studying for a postgraduate marketing diploma with the college.

He said: "The practical sessions have been a real eyeopener and have given me additional skills and knowledge which are helping drive the business and giving us an edge in the market."

Those wishing to sign up for any Chartered Institute of Marketing course - whether or not they are currently involved in the profession - can discuss the options at open evenings on June 23, July 5 and July 21 at Brighton University.

Tutors offer a personal no-obligation consultation and prospective students should call Liz Barnes on 01444 454988 to make an appointment .
