The lawyer for Guantanamo Bay detainee Omar Deghayes will visit Brighton after seeing his client at the camp.
Clive Stafford-Smith will talk tomorrow at St Joseph's Hall in Milton Road at 7pm about Mr Deghayes' welfare and the campaign to free him.
He will be joined by Libyan politics expert George Joffe, of Kings College London, and Kadeer Arif, chairman of the Brighton and Hove Racial Harassment Forum.
Family members and supporters fear Mr Deghayes, 35, from Saltdean, could be sent to his birth place of Libya if the camp closes because he is a British resident, not a citizen.
His father was allegedly assassinated by the Libyan government and Libyan interrogators are said to have threatened him at Guantanamo where he has been detained without charge since 2002.
