The Anglo-Sikh Heritage Trail draws together strands of history from architecture and memorials to rare books and treasures.
People can follow the trail online or use the information to plan location visits.
Brighton Pavilion is featured because wounded Indian troops serving with the British Army were cared for there from December 1914 to January 1916.
The trail also highlights the dome-shaped Chattri War Memorial, Brighton, built on the spot where many Sikh and Hindu soldiers were cremated.
The trail, marking 150 years of Anglo-Sikh culture and created by English Heritage and the Maharajah Duleep Singh Centenary Trust, was launched on Thursday.
Trust director Harbinder Singh said: "Despite Sikhs' high visibility in Britain, the long and remarkable history connecting Sikhs to Britain remains largely unknown.
"The trail aims to preserve the past while inspring the future and keeping Ango-Sikh history very much alive."
