On one page of my copy of The Argus (June 21), I read about the problems of supplying new homes to Brighton and Hove's burgeoning population and on another page, there was a picture of the new Clock Tower development.
This space should have been used to facilitate the swift passage of our good bus services, say, in the form of a roundabout.
Our planners say we are running out of space for new housing. Why?
An unholy row is going on in Europe over farming subsidies. Why not acquire uneconomical farmland in the area surrounding Brighton and Hove, compensate the landowner with a fair pay-off and build houses there?
Compulsory purchase orders used to provide land for both private and public housing.
In the interests of those struggling to find a home, the system should be resurrected, and quickly.
