I was disappointed to read a complaint that Averil Older and Jan Young had not stopped the proposed King Alfred development (Letters, June 20).

There is a hung council and the Greens and LibDems voted with Labour, giving them an overall majority on the issue.

I have sent Averil Older and Jan Young a number of emails and they are still actively trying to stop the development but they need support, not detrimental comments.

Try supporting your local councillors instead of running them down or join the local campaign against the current redevelopment plan.
