Nathan Jones believes he can enjoy back-to-back promotions again with his new club Yeovil.
The former Albion wide man has moved to Huish Park on a two-year contract, despite interest from Colchester, Bristol City, Swansea and his old club Luton.
Jones was released by the Seagulls at the end of last season after helping them to consecutive promotions in 2000-01 and 2001-02.
Yeovil won League Two last season under Gary Johnson and the 32-year-old Welshman said: "I think we could do the same as Brighton and go straight through.
"Yeovil are a fit, young and talented group who like to work hard and give it a go. They also have one of the best managers outside the Premiership."
Jones is tipping Albion to survive again in his absence. "I am sure they can have another successful season and stay in the Championship," he said.
The Seagulls visit Shrewsbury in the first round of the Carling Cup on August 23 or 24, while Jones faces ex-Albion colleague Darren Currie against Ipswich at Portman Road.
