An MP is writing to a mobile phone firm asking it to remove an "immoral" phone mast built without proper planning controls.
David Lepper, MP for Brighton Pavilion, said operator O2 was wrong to erect a mast in Carden Avenue, Hollingbury, earlier this month.
Brighton and Hove City Council objected to the application a day too late and the firm automatically gained planning permission for the mast, the fourth in a 200m area.
Mr Lepper said: "I am very concerned about this. I am sending a petition to the council, signed by a couple of hundred people, who are angry they now have four masts so close to each other."
He will call on the firm to knock down the new mast and consider sharing space on one of the other masts instead.
