An iconic new arts centre will open to the public in September after an £8 million redevelopment .
The De La Warr Pavilion, in Bexhill, will open as a national centre for contemporary art following an 18-month refurbishment.
The pavilion, which celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, is a Grade I listed icon of the Modernist movement.
Visitors will be able to see the completion of the first stage of the project on September 17, including the new contemporary galleries and caf bar, which has sea views.
There is a rooftop terrace for visitors to enjoy panoramic views along the South Coast.
The opening celebrations include exhibitions, live events and spectacular fireworks.
An epic choral piece, called Sea Tongue and featuring 300 local singers led by The Shout, will signal the official re-opening.
The second stage of the project is due to be completed later this year. This includes two new buildings, the education studio and office accommodation.
