Cute, sometimes dark and hailed as a brilliant opportunity to switch off SpongeBob and get the kids interested in the idea of the Bard, Shakespeare, The Animated Tales were a huge hit when they appeared on our screens ten years ago.
The 12 abridged and animated versions of Shakespeare's best-loved plays also led to the birth of a UK-wide festival where teachers and pupils have the opportunity to produce and direct their own interpretations of one of Shakespeare's plays.
Using the same scripts, more than 400 schools across the UK will be performing simultaneous Shakespearean productions on professional stages.
They have been trained in workshops run by the four National Youth Theatres of Great Britain and the nationwide event coincides with the BBC's drive to celebrate the legendary playwright's life and works.
This local production features The Taming Of The Shrew by Lewes Priory School, A Midsummer Night's Dream by Worthing High School, Romeo and Juliet by Patcham High School and Othello by Reigate School.
Starts 7pm, tickets cost £7/£5. Call 01273 709709.
