In January 2003, I wrote a feature on the diminutive Hazelcar, which was produced locally in the late Forties and early Fifties by the Hazeldine brothers.
The example owned by Arthur Hazell of Saltdean has finally been restored to its original appearance.
What is more, it has passed its MOT.
It may be seen at fairs, such as the one for motoring enthusiasts at Peacehaven last weekend and the forthcoming Lions' Club Gala in Saltdean Oval on July 16.
And now, it will also be seen on local roads.
I went for a ride in it last Sunday and it gamely tackled Saltdean's steepest hills.
Congratulations to Arthur Hazell on his achievement.
-Douglas d'Enno, Saltdean
