Bob Luckhurst wrote (Letters, June 22) that Southern Water spent £60,000 on cards telling us not to waste water.
What a pity it did't issue them to its staff as well.
Recently, my wife noticed a bad leak near the South Coast road in Peacehaven. In view of the water shortage, she reported it to Southern Water and was told someone would have a look in two or three days.
Perhaps it doesn't have the staff or perhaps there are so many leaks, it can't cope.
Either way, it needs to get its house in order before spending more of our money telling us what we already know. It's a classic case of, do as we say, not as we do.
