Councillors are stepping up their bid to turn a sleepy seaside town into a centre for extreme sports.
A poster campaign to promote Eastbourne as a centre for sea and leisure activities has been launched featuring some of its many attractions - especially those around Sovereign Harbour.
Once described as God's Waiting Room, Eastbourne is enjoying a Renaissance with sports fans flocking to the seaside town to lap up the sun and surf.
Ian Lucas, leader of Eastbourne Borough Council, Peter Towner of the Spray Water Sports Centre and Fiona Copeland of the Wheely Good Fun activity centre, presented a series of posters promoting Eastbourne as a sports base yesterday.
The Promo Poster campaign is all part of the image change Eastbourne is going through to promote it as a trendy town and not one only for the middle aged and pensioners.
Posters and escalator panels promoting Eastbourne have already gone up across the London Underground network, including busy stops like Oxford Circus and Victoria.
