If you associate networking with stilted conversation and dodgy buffets you might want to attend an evening training event being held next week.
Julia Chanteray, author of The Joy of Business, and Julia Stanford, author of the Essential Business Guide, will explore how to beat networking blues.
They will demonstrate how "getting out and about" is still one of the best ways to build your business and give tips on how to combat nerves and make a good impression.
Ms Chanteray said: "I'm fascinated by the opportunities running your own business brings.
I now act as a mentor for people with great businesses that deserve to succeed."
The event is being hosted by Brighton and Hove Chamber of Commerce at the Dudley Hotel in Lansdowne Place, Hove, on Wednesday, July 13, from 5.45pm.
