Have the planners gone stark-raving mad (The Argus, June 27)?
Planning legislation is meant to control out-of-character buildings in architecturally sensitive areas. Le Petit Pain's extended patio simply covered the back yard of this cafe's Victorian premises and is probably mostly used by mums for a quiet cup of coffee.
The area is surrounded by such architectural gems as a car park and more back yards.
The owner didn't have planning permission but can't they just have a bit of entente cordiale?
