Although I sympathise with Professor Baker on being targeted by a small child (Letters, July 2), I wonder how he knows the miscreant and its family were "refugees of the Greater London sprawl".

I am unaware of any peculiarities which mark me out as living in Yorkshire.

Not least, since carrying a whippet under one's arm went out of fashion some years ago.
