Yes I admit after living for just over a year in Brighton, I’ve become spoilt. I am used to festivals and events happening almost every weekend with sporadic extra gigs on weeknights to keep me on my toes. And if there’s an odd weekend with nothing going on, I don’t mind. But this is a bank holiday weekend and not just any bank holiday weekend- we have Friday and Monday off!
I have scoured the internet to see what’s on, finding only a couple of Easter egg hunts here and there (which I would love to go, but think a 26-year-old getting overly competitive in the race for chocolate-and probably swiping it from under the nose of a 5-year-old is frowned upon).
I have also checked out my favourite venues such as the Ranelagh and the Neptune for gigs, but I am not yet sold on anything in particular.
To make matters worse, the Easter back up plan is always a big BBQ on the beach, walk on the downs or stroll up the seafront – but has anyone seen the weather lately?
However, I am not giving up - I am determined to make the most of the weekend with big roasts, a murder mystery party and seeing old friends, but without something kooky and Brighton-esque to do, I feel something is missing!
