What's been happening in the deranged world of Brighton's psychotic gothabilly punks?
It's been three years since they first forced their way onto the music scene with their debut album, 2002's Horse Of The Dog, while tales of frontman Guy McKnight's excesses at Kerrang ceremonies and NME parties only served to underline his band's status as one of the most exciting and unpredictable rock 'n' roll bands around.
But life hasn't just been about hurling oneself from the stage with reckless abandon for McKnight and co. Following the release of their second album, The Royal Society, guitarist Andy Huxley left and the Matchboxes parted company with their record label.
Undaunted, the band replaced Huxley with BIMM graduate Rich Fownes and set off in support of System Of A Down on their recent European tour.
This intimate gig will almost certainly see them previewing new material destined for their third album.
The Lubes, Father Paranoia and Decoder are also on the bill, courtesy of Brighton Warner Music Studio.
Starts 8pm, tickets cost £5. Call 01273 603974.
