THE Essential Festival for Shoreham was officially scrapped today. Organisers have decided to pull the plug on the pop event. They wanted to hold the two-day festival on August 1 and 2 at Shoreham Airport after being forced to move from Brighton's Stanmer Park where it was held for the past six years. An Adur Council meeting was due to be held tonight to consider an entertainments licence to hold the event at the airport. The meeting has now been cancelled.
