THE search is on to find the best of businesses in the South.
TV company Meridian, which broadcasts to Sussex, has launched the 1998 Business Awards. Categories are for businesses with between ten and 50 employees and for those with more than 50. There is also a category for the Entrepreneur of the Year, open to any individual who has made a significant contribution to any trading or service organisation in the commercial, public or voluntary sectors. The deadline for entries is June 12, and Carol Vorderman will host the awards ceremony on Friday, November 13, at Meridian's Sothampton studios. John Morrell, Meridian's controller of regional affairs, said: "The new categories for businesses should attract record entries for the awards, which have grown in stature over the past five years. "The region is rich in innovative entrepreneurial individuals and this is the perfect show window to display their talent."
