LOCAL businessmen were last night urged to join up with the Albion.
General manager Nick Rowe told them they could be part of a feel-good factor which would overwhelm Brighton and Hove as the Seagulls, FA Cup finalists 15 years ago, started to soar again. He was speaking to an invited audience of about 100 businessmen and supporters at Brighton's Grand Hotel, organised by the club and mobile phone company Cellnet. Albion chairman Dick Knight, director Martin Perry, manager Brian Horton and former Seagulls star Gary Stevens were on the panel. Mr Perry said Albion were confident they would get permission to play temporarily at Withdean Stadium, and a new stadium elsewhere would be the envy of towns and cities throughout the country.
