SUSSEX are seeking a hat-trick of wins in the space of eight days to repair their dreadful Benson and Hedges Cup record.

Skipper Chris Adams knows victory is essential against Essex at Hove tomorrow to avoid an early exit for the 11th time in 12 seasons. They have their work cut out to reach the quarter-finals following Wednesday's six-run reverse against Middlesex at Lord's. Sussex host Glamorgan next Tuesday before completing their group fixtures in Ireland on Saturday week and Adams admitted: We have to win all three now, it's as simple as that. We will be going flat out. It was fortunate for us that Essex's game against Glamorgan was rained off, but we don't want to have to rely on anybody else. Adams is encouraged by the way the side battled against Middlesex following their mauling last Sunday in the AXA League against tomorrow's opponents. We had a completely different team out and I would like to think with that team we would have competed in the Essex game, he said. We have got things to work on and it won't be an instant success story, but we are showing that we are no pushovers. Sussex select from the same squad of 13 on duty at Lord's, with opening batsman Wasim Khan fit-again following a bout of flu. Sussex (from): Edwards, Adams, Greenfield, Bevan, Carpenter, K. Newell, Moores, Jarvis, Davis, Lewry, Robinson, Khan, Kirtley.
