ALBION target Julian Alsford has rejoined his old club Chester.
The former Dundee United centre half was due to play in the reserves against Spurs at Worthing last night.
But he has gone back to Chester on a weekly contract and plays for them against Exeter on Saturday.
Caretaker manager Jeff Wood revealed: "The only reason he has gone there is because they are guaranteeing him first team football."
Four trialists did play last night and they had mixed fortunes as Tottenham won 2-1.
Former Seagulls stalwart Ian Chapman was booked in the first half for a foul but almost equalised with two shots in the second half.
Wood said: "He did well considering it was his first game for a while."
Lawrence Davies, a 21-year-old centre forward from Bradford City, showed some promise with a couple of penetrating runs and, like Chapman, will play again against Arsenal on Monday.
Billericay central defender Darren White scored for Albion with a 30th- minute shot, but Tottenham were already two up by then through Rory Allen and Paul McVeigh.
The fourth trialist, Jari Makinen, returns to Finland today.
Albion Reserves: Ormerod; Smith, Chapman, White, Browne, Hobson, Ansah, Davies, Streeter, Makinen, Ryan. Subs: Ottley (for White 88), Marney (for Streeter 88), McCurdy.
