A MAN has been questioned by police over a pub blaze which caused thousands of pounds' damage.
The Sussex Oak in Warnham was evacauted on Saturday night after a fire on the first floor.
Firefighers from Horsham were called to the 100-year-old pub earlier after a small fire in the boiler room. It was put out before it caused any major damage.
The second blaze severely damaged the pub's living quarters and the restaurant area below sustained water damage.
Licensee Julio Giauna declined to comment but pub owners Whitbread say the Sussex Oak will be closed for at least a week.
The arrested man, who is in his twenties and lives locally, has been released on bail.
