A THUGS' victim was stabbed in the head during a £50 street robbery early today.
Mark Sullivan, 31, was approached by his two attackers in Buckingham Road, Brighton, at 3.10am and forced to hand over the cash.
He was stabbed in the head before the two ran off.
Mr Sullivan staggered to Brighton station, where an ambulance was called.
Police who followed a trail of blood back to Buckingham Road said the stabbing was unprovoked and are urgently appealing for witnesses.
Det Con Chris Davison, of Brighton CID, said: "This was a vicious attack.
"We are urgently appealing for any witnesses, who may have seen this attack or who were in the area during the early hours of this morning to contact us."
The first attacker was white, in his mid-twenties, 5ft 9ins tall with short brown hair. He was wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans.
His accomplice, also in his mid-twenties, was black, 6ft 2ins tall and was wearing a dark jacket.
Mr Sullivan, from Watford, was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
