ANIMAL rights campaigners came face-to-face with police during a demonstration against a monkey farm.
More than 300 protestors marched through Henfield and Small Dole before gathering outside Shamrock (GB) Ltd, which sells laboratory monkeys.
Toni Vernelli, 27, who organised yesterday's three-mile march, said: "We did this on Valentine's Day to show how anyone who works for the company must have a heart of stone."
The demonstration, which was monitored by around 150 police, passed off peacefully with no arrests.
The firm, based in Henfield Road, Small Dole, did not want to comment on the demonstration.
