A BACK-PACKER who stopped to look at a map was dragged into a car by two men who drove her towards Devil's Dyke.
She struggled and managed to jump from the vehicle as it slowed near a junction.
The woman, unhurt but shocked, ran back over the Brighton bypass and alerted police.
Today detectives were anxious to trace witnesses.
The abduction happened last Tuesday at 6.50pm but the victim, from Gloucester, was too distressed to tell the full story until today.
She was in King George VI Avenue, Hove, when the blue-metallic car, possibly a hatchback with a spoiler, pulled up.
The driver dragged her inside and pulled her coat over her head. He drove off, heading towards Devil's Dyke, while the victim fought with the second man.
Both men are between 23 and 30. One has prominent face bones and short ginger-brown hair. He wore a cream baseball cap and white fleece jacket.
