CHILDREN are risking their lives by "surfing" on the back of buses.
And today police warned that unless it is stopped it will only be a matter of time before someone is killed or seriously injured.
The youngsters jump onto the back bumpers of both single and double-deckers and hang on by clinging to the window frames.
They get off when the driver slows down or stops and then look for another bus to jump on to.
Police are stepping up patrols in Crawley town centre and the Broadfield area, where most of the "surfing" incidents are taking place.
Police have received several complaints from bus company Arriva and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
