A WOMAN who was seriously injured after she was knocked down by a cyclist is suing Worthing Council.
Toni Beet suffered a fractured skull and collarbone, injured her left eye and received bruising after she was knocked down on Worthing seafront in July 1995.
She was taken to Worthing Hospital for treatment to her injuries, but continued to suffer from double vision, headaches, weakness in her limbs and a loss of concentration.
She was knocked to the ground by the Lido near the end of a seafront cycle path set up by Worthing Council, and is suing the council for personal injury in excess of £50,000.
The council denies responsibility and is contesting the claim for damages, filed in a writ to the Queen's Bench Division of the High Court on April 7 this year.
