A £20 million mail sorting office for Sussex has been unveiled.
Trade and Industry Secretary Stephen Byers staged the official opening of Gatwick Mail Centre in James Watt Way, Crawley.
The complex will serve two million customers over a large area of Sussex including Brighton, Crawley, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and Horsham.
Five-year-old Jake Rose from Ifield First School in Rusper Road, Ifield, Crawley, won £250 of book tokens for his school when he christened one of the sorting machines Millie, to mark the new millennium.
He helped Mr Byers press a button to start the machines as dignitaries and staff watched.
