AA COUPLE will step back into bygone Brighton for an unusual wedding which they hope might become an unplanned festival attraction.
Julia Harding and Eric Barns, of Cambridge Grove, Hove, and their 60 guests will make an unusual sight when they don Regency fancy dress for the event at Brighton Town Hall tomorrow.
Graphic artist Julia, 30, explained she couldn't bear the thought of a conventional wedding.
She said: "I wanted to make it a celebration where everyone would dress up, embrace life and have fun.
"Brighton has been the inspiration because it allows people to be as different as they want to be.
"We wanted the wedding to be part of the festival."
The couple became fascinated by the town's decadent Regency era after visiting the Royal Pavilion.
Julia will wear a gold dress with purple lining and gold bells around the bustline made by her friend, designer Karina Stafford.
Eric, 37, a computer programmer, will be dressed as an elegant dandy in pantaloons, riding boots, top hat and flowery waistcoat.
He said: "It will be an ice-breaker because everyone gets stressed about what to wear to weddings."
