The Sussex squad won yesterday's inter-league challenge against the second division cup finalists 56-34 at Arling-ton Stadium.
The match, predict-ably, turned into an end-of-year benefit for the top Eastbourne riders.
Martin Dugard, David Norris and rider of the year Dean Barker breezed through the meeting virtually unchal-lenged, while Peter Nahlin was headed only once by an opponent when Leigh Lanham beat him into third place.
Arena's only race win in 15 attempts came when John Wainwright took the reserves race.
Maximum
With Eagles giving second stringers Phil Ambrose and Jamie Smith a total of 11 rides, the scoreline did at least take on a degree of respectability.
It meant the visitors were able to occupy most of the minor placings and restrict Eagles to four maximum heat wins.
Norris and Nahlin grabbed the first two 5-1's, then Dugard and Barker got in on the act, and finally Barker and Nahlin wrapped it all up in the last race.
Norris finished with five wins, and Barker with a paid maximum, while Dugard, who won four out of four at Arena in Eastbourne's 46-44 win in the first leg, came up with a repeat.
