East Worthing John Hobbs 01903 237440 stamp collectors: At the meeting of the British Aero Philatelic Society (Southern Section) John Jeffery gave a most impressive display of the Postal History of the KLM Airlines.

Members of the East Worthing Stamp Club were entertained by a most interesting and unusual display of the "Ideal Stamp" which was organised by Fred Melville at the 1912 Jubilee Stamp Exhibition. This was a competition run to find the best design for the new George V stamps.

HOMEWORK CLUB: The Children's Homework Club got off to a good start in the library in Selham Drive on Thursday last week. It commenced with ten children between the ages of 10-14 present with their mums.

Allyson Edmunds, the librarian for Saltdean, is the club's co-ordinator. The club takes place between 3.30-5.30pm each Thursday.

OPPORTUNITIES: You can get a free lunch at the launch party of Opportunities at St Cuthman's Church Light Centre next Wednesday, 11am-3pm.

There will be a free creche available, and you can sign up for free courses, including classroom assistant training, IT training, car maintenance and outdoor pursuit leadership. Opportunities will provide employment and training advice to any resident of Whitehawk.

If you can't make that day, there's another Opportunities launch party on Friday, October 22, at 44 George Street, Kemp Town, at which Simon Fanshawe will perform the opening ceremony at 11am.
