DESPITE holding a 2-1 lead with little more than 20 minutes remaining, Albion slipped to a 4-2 defeat in their Avon Combination fixture at Leyton Orient yesterday afternoon.
Two goals from David Cameron had put Albion in the driving seat but the Londoners produced a late flourish.
With first team striker Darren Freeman set to miss the next three matches due to suspension, Cameron boosted his first-team chances with two opportunist goals.
Albion enjoyed the better opening exchanges in a lively period with Cameron and strike partner Aiden Newhouse causing problems.
Against the run of play, the home side took the lead when midfielder John Martin headed a Danny Hockton cross past Mark Ormerod from ten yards. in the 17th minute.
The Seagulls were level four minutes later when a long throw from the right by Ross Johnson was nodded on by Ben Andrews to Cameron who hooked in the equaliser.
The second half saw Daniel Marney on for Ian Culverhouse as Albion adopted a 3-4-3 system and in the 52nd minute Cameron met Marney's floated cross to head his side into the lead.
This jolted Orient into action and the introduction of Dave Morrison on the right wing paid dividends.
He blasted a shot past Ormerod in the 68th minute and caused a number of problems for Albion's defence with his slick play.
A neat passing move by the home side in the 70th minute carved gaps in the visitors' defence and ended with Steve Watts wrong-footing Ormerod to record Orient's third goal.
Watts added another six minutes from time when he side-footed home from close range after Hockton had rounded Gary Hobson.
Cameron was denied his hat-trick when a header hit the upright but Orient finished the stronger side to record their second win of the season.
