FORMER armed forces minister Nicholas Soames upstaged new defence
secretary Geoff Hoon in the Commons.
Veteran Labour MP Tam Dalyell asked Mr Hoon if it was true the Irish Guards were the only soldiers who patrolled at night in Kosovo.
He admitted he did not know but would write to Mr Dalyell with the answer. But Mid Sussex Tory MP Mr Soames, who had the next question in the Commons, said: "It is true."
Mr Hoon said: "When I'm stuck for further information I shall know where to come."
