Rebels battled back from a goal behind to clinch their fifth win in their last seven games.

Second-half goals from Paul Kennett and Lee Weston leave Worthing seventh, only three points behind leaders Croydon.

Rebels, with former Albion defender Stuart Tuck making his debut, were shocked when Leatherhead scored from their first attack on 14 minutes through player/manager Tommy Warrilow.

Worthing levelled five minutes after the break, Kennett heading in a cross by Funnell at the far post. Funnell made the winning goal for Weston on 67 minutes

Scott Bundy hit the winner as Bognor secured a 1-0 victory over fellow strugglers Chertsey at Nyewood Lane.

Rocks got a breakthrough just before half-time. Tony Cleeve crossed for Neil Scammell, back from injury with Roy Young, to rifle in a shot which Gavin Hopper failed to hold and Bundy seized on the rebound to score.

Survived

Rocks survived a last-minute scare when Colin Matthews turned over a long-range shot by Simon Line.

Horsham boss John Maggs praised new signing Gavin Geddes after the former Albion winger scored on his first appearance in his second spell in a 5-2 division two home win against Chalfont St Peter.

After clinching Horsham's fourth successive win, Maggs said: "Gavin showed he is a quality player and will be a great asset for the club. He was unlucky not to have scored a hat-trick."

Gary Charman gave Hornets the lead on 24 minutes, but

bottom club Chalfont levelled through a 35th-minute header by Darren Jones.

Steve Flain put Horsham back in front in the 54th minute. Four minutes later Geddes scored from six yards and, on 63 minutes, Charman made it 4-1. Liam O'Neil pulled a second goal back for the visitors in the 89th minute before Dave O'Dongo replied in the final minute.

Lewes' hopes of getting back on the division three promotion trail were dented when they lost 1-0 at second-placed East Thurrock. Rooks took the game to their nervous hosts but Simon Chapman squandered their best chance.

The only goal of the game came in the 71st minute through Steve Carter who beat Paul Rogers from the edge of the box.
