WITHDEAN bosses are hiding their embarrassment after an amazing ultimatum to Albion manager Micky Adams.

A steward warned Adams to sit down or he would be ejected from the ground. The incident happened during Saturday's 1-1 home draw against Darlington.

Adams decided to sit in the North Stand, liaising with assistant Alan Cork in the dugout via walkie-talkie.

"I'm a little bit superstitious," he said. "Corky got a decent 0-0 draw at Torquay, so I thought I would leave it to him again.

"But unfortunately you can't even do that at this club without getting moved on by stewards and safety officers.

"I was standing on the sidelines when I was told if I didn't sit down I was going to be ejected."

The incident left Stadium manager Dave Baker speechless and he refused to comment after the match.

Gary Hart ended his seven-match goal famine and a drought of more than seven and a half hours for Albion with a second-half equaliser.

It was his third goal in four games against Darlington, who had taken the lead three minutes earlier through substitute Peter Duffield.

Hart said: "I always seem to score against Darlington. I wish we were playing them every week!

"I can't remember how it came about. I saw the ball and lashed it in. I didn't know what to do then. It was a poor celebration."

Adams said: "I'm pleased for Gary. He worked ever so hard and deserved his goal.

"We have lacked goals of late. Hopefully that has set Harty off on a run and he has showed our other two strikers how to do it."

Albion have dropped twp places to 16th, immediately below Mansfield.

But a first win for six games would lift them back above tomorrow night's hosts.
