A 17-YEAR-OLD student was raped on an industrial estate as she walked home from a pub.
She left The Pilot in Albion Street, Southwick, just after 10.30pm on Sunday and walked across the nearby Grange industrial estate.
A man approached from behind and dragged her to the back of an industrial building, where he raped her before running off.
The girl, who is still being interviewed by Hove detectives, was not injured in the attack, but was said to be "extremely traumatised".
A police spokesman said: "This was a particularly callous and cowardly attack on a vulnerable young woman."
The rapist, in his mid-twenties, was between 6ft and 6ft 2in, of medium build with short, spiky dark hair. He smelt of tobacco.
Anyone with information should call Det Sgt Graham Bartlett of Hove police on 0845 6070999.
