A Sussex vicar has been suspended pending a police investigation into allegations of indecency with under age boys.
The Rev David Dunn is no longer ministering in Littlehampton, where he has been working for the past two years, on the orders of the Bishop of Horsham, the Rt Rev Lindsay Urwin.
Church spokesman Canon Will Pratt said: "The Bishop, having been made aware of the police investigation, has suspended the reverend for the time being."
Mr Dunn, accompanied by a solicitor, spent several hours at Brighton police station one day this week.
The Argus understands he was arrested and released on bail pending further inquiries.
He declined to comment as he left the John Street station.
Members of the Brighton police Child Protection Team, leading the investigation, also declined to comment on the case.
The Argus understands detectives are investigating claims of indecency with boys under consenting age during the 1970s and 1980s.
Mr Dunn, a 58-year-old bachelor, who was born in Bridport, was a minister in Brighton from 1966 to 1969 and between 1974 and 1977, working in the St Wilfred's area.
