The search to find the best pub landlord in Brighton and Hove is on.

The Argus has launched a competition in partnership with the Juicy Awards, which have been billed as the towns 'equivalent to the Oscars.

We want to hear from regulars about what make sthe landlord at their local one in a million. Perhaps he or she works tirelessly to raise money for charity, is always ready to lend a sympathetic ear to listen to your problems or helps make your neighbourhood the place to be.

The winner will minglewith the stars in an award ceremony at a glittering Regency ball on April 30. The Juicy Awards, which are supported by The PlaceTo Be campaign for city status, are designed to show off everything best about Brighton and Hove, with prizes going to the winning pub, club, cafe and hotel.

Carol Barnes, JoeMcGann, Chris Eubank and Steve Coogan are among the celebritiesexpected to attend the lavish event, which is being hosted by Lucy Shuttleworth and Gilly Smith,authors of The Juicy GuideTo Brighton And Hove.

The book, which will be launched on April 30, promises to be the funkiest guide to the town, written by locals for locals.Gilly, 36, from KempTown, said all Juicy winners were unique and gave some tips on what she believed made a great landlord.

She said: "A landlord is more than the sum of his or her pub. He or she will create the kind of ambience that will set the pub apart from the run of the mill, serve a great variety of beers and lagers and open the doors to everyone."The Juicy people and places in Brighton andHove are singular, full ofcharacter and reflect the spirit of an extraordinarytown.
