Langney Sports insist they won't be taking things easy, despite sewing up the title with three games to spare.

The new champions won 4-1 at Horsham YMCA on Saturday and now hope to celebrate in style at home to Sidley tomorrow night when they will be presented with the County League trophy.

Andy Ducille scored twice and there were also goals for Andy Agutter and Jason Reed at soggy Gorings Mead. Daren Pearce had a penalty brilliantly saved by Duncan Green just before the break.

Langney coach Nick Greenwood said: "We don't want to let our season go off the boil and this was a very competent performance. It wasn't an easy place to come and score four goals but we looked very solid."

Glen Newall was YM's scorer with a good finish after Wayne Potter had won possession. Reflective YM boss John Suter praised Sports. He admitted: "Langney are a good side. They work hard to win the ball and when they've got it they don't give it away easily."

Ringmer boss Russell Mason named himself among the substitutes at Chichester but was not called into action as his side won 2-1. Tom Foster put Chi in front but they otherwise foundered on a defence in which former Horsham skipper Ochea Ikpa made his debut.

Germain Amanuel equalised with a cracking volley from Sammy Taylor's driven cross. Then Luke Gedling worked the ball onto his left foot and fired home the winner off a post.

Mason said: "They were two of the best goals you will see. I'm astonished we haven't won more games."

East Preston had to come from behind to beat lowly Wick 2-1. Manager Carl Stabler missed the game and assistant Ian Cole reckons he was lucky.

Cole said: "Wick deserved at least a draw. We didn't perform at all well and Wick were more committed than us."

Wick's Matt High hit the woodwork twice in the opening 15 minutes as the visitors made a positive start. Stuart Begent gave Wick a 35th-minute lead with a cracking shot from 25 yards but Robbie Pearce scrambled home an equaliser just before half- time.

Four minutes into the second half top scorer Clinton More was brought down by goalkeeper Simon Davey for a penalty. Davey was booked and former Wick striker More got up to convert his 27th goal of the season from the penalty spot.
