With promotion already secured, Mick Rowland wants the Unijet County League division two title.

Arundel clinched promotion with a 2-1 win over Worthing United last Wednesday and Rowland's new target is to pinch the championship from Sidlesham. They currently trail Sidlesham by nine points but have two games in hand and also still have to visit Sidlesham on May 1.

Rowland said: "I said at the start of the season the league would be between Sidlesham and Arundel. I felt quite confident with the squad of players we had. We have still got to play Sidlesham. If we win our last five games it could go down to goal difference and there is only one goal in it at the moment. I think we are in the driving seat now."

Miles Scerri has netted 38 goals for Arundel so far this season while Sam Wincell, who grabbed a brace in the win which clinched promotion last week, now has 20.

Arundel are firing on all cylinders and the pressure is on Sidlesham, whose 23-match winning run came to a surprise end with a 2-1 defeat at home to lowly Withdean on Saturday.

Former Saltdean player Carl Southwell scored twice in the opening 25 minutes to put Withdean in the driving seat and, although Lee Mould pulled one back early in the second half, the visitors held on.

Recent signing Neil Hodgson scored a last-minute penalty for Peacehaven to secure a 1-1 draw at Lancing. The point could prove valuable for Peacehaven in their fight against relegation but it is not likely to help Lancing's promotion push.

Dale Brunton gave the hosts a first-minute lead but Hodgson's 90th-minute spot kick success means Lancing are only six points clear of fourth-placed Crawley Down, who have four games in hand.

East Grinstead and Oakwood both ended any lingering thoughts of relegation by claiming convincing victories. Steve Banks scored a hat-trick, taking his tally to 15 for the campaign, as Grinstead triumphed 5-0 at Southwick. James Hylton had put the Wasps ahead in 26th minute while teenager Sam Betteridge netted his first senior goal to complete the scoring four minutes from time.

Colin Garman bagged a brace in the opening ten minutes as Oakwood won 2-0 against Worthing United.

Westfield led twice at Oving but finally had to settle for a 2-2 draw in a clash between last season's two promoted sides. Roy Manktelow continued his impressive recent form by putting Westfield ahead but Justin Turnill levelled just before half time with his 18th of the campaign. An own goal restored Westfield's advantage in the first minute of the second half but John Donoghue secured a point for Oving.
