I was surprised by the letter from Mrs Georgina K Jones, of Grand Avenue, Hove. I live very near the hospital and find the situation much improved by the parking scheme. Talking to other residents I find the scheme so far to be judged a success and to have improved the whole area. I also notice the group opposing the scheme prior to its commencement seems to have gone away, perhaps to Hove?

To my knowledge the Kemp Town councillors have set up and attend a monitoring group that is meeting regularly to monitor the scheme. They also attend meetings of Kemp Town Community Forum where parking issues are discussed with residents. Modifications have been made to the scheme in line with residents' concerns and councillors continue to work with local people to iron out any remaining problems. I can only suggest Mrs Jones should not rely on gossip but check her facts before denigrating hard working councillors!
