Peter Johnson likes his local restaurant so much he has had its name and phone number tattooed on his forehead.

The former cook and kitchen porter is literally a walking advert for All In One takeaway in Park Road, Coldean, Brighton. The tattoo, in black with red full stops, goes right the way across his head with the telephone number below.

He is not being paid a penny for the permanent tattoo by owner Nasser Bandar, who first saw it when Peter walked into the shop for his regular evening order.

Peter, 49, who is married with four children and unemployed, had to persuade a tattooist in Crawley to carry out the work. Peter, who lives in Ringmer Close, Moulsecoomb - a short walk from his favourite shop - said: "I persuaded him after I told him I genuinely wanted it. The tattooist said he did not want it publicised he had done the job.

"The tattoo provides quite a talking point wherever I go. I then tell them about the restaurant and magnificent variety of food they offer from pizzas and kebabs to fish and chips. Some people, including my family, think I am crazy but I like tattoos so why not one have one about my favourite takeaway?"

Owner Nasser Bandar also thinks Peter is crazy. He said: "Obviously I welcome the walking advertisement for my shop and I am pleased he is a satisfied regular customer."
