Sussex solicitors protesting about current changes curtailing the availability of legal aid have won the support of Lewes MP Norman Baker.
During a visit to Brighton law firm Dean Wilson Laing, partners David Barling and David Laing briefed the MP on the damaging effects of the reorganisation, including the rate at which lawyers are pulling out of the scheme.
Mr Baker said he was concerned at how the changes would restrict the public's fundamental right of access to justice and, as a result of the meeting, had already tabled parliamentary questions on the issue.
