I read with incredulity the spokesman for the Eldridge Pope Brewers, Paul Ransome, thinks his company is providing "something completely different for Brighton" (Argus, July 10) by installing a DJ four nights a week in a bar!

The reason this town is such a mess is precisely because everybody is catering for the 18-25 market, who fight, vomit, vandalise at will because there is not sufficient and visible policing.

The prospect for Brighton, already swimming in drugs and techno music, is bleak indeed. I feel it may very well shortly be "the place to flee".
